The communication dilemma you don’t learn in school

In theory, it may be easy to decide that the users’ need go before organisational goals. Or that all brands are supported with the same amount of resources. Or that we all follow the same brand guidelines. But in reality, working with communication in a large organisation with a wide offering – in this case of higher education programmes – presents several dilemmas on a daily basis.

In this session, you are introduced to how VIA University College works with marketing, communication and branding of no less than 42 study programmes, and invited to join the discussion of a number of dilemmas that most communication professionals in large organisations might recognize and benefit from others’ experiences on.

How to make life event based digital services more user friendly

Many countries have already started communicating about services with particular focus on life events. Still, citizens continue to deal with individual branches of government, even though they are now more aware of the services related to their life events.

Suomi.fi provides cross-administrative information in Finland. Suomi.fi currently has eight guides for different life events. Suomi.fi also provides for public administration organisations shared services: Messages and e-Authorizations.

We are taking steps towards cross-administrative service activities and we would like to discuss:

  • How far are you with cross-administrative services in your administration?

  • What factors facilitate creating life event-oriented online services?

  • What obstacles and challenges have you encountered?
